El Menya
A historical masterpiece illustrated through the evolution of ancient civilizations has produced one of Egypt’s most remarkable destinations. Currently home to some 4 million Egyptians, El Menya is in many ways Egypt’s geographical and historical nucleus, stretching out along the river Nile 230 km outside of Cairo. This city was actually the capital of Egypt around 700 years ago when Ikhnaton and the beautiful queen Nefertiti inhabited the village of Tel El Amarana in the center of worship known as the Markez of Malawi. This site can be visited alongside nearly a dozen other burial sites and museums, which still house the original sculptures, monuments and paintings that have survived to this day.
